Why is there a logo watermark on my documents?
|
PDF Complete attaches a permanent watermark to any document that is created using a demo or an expired version of our trial software.
To prevent future documents from being watermarked, use a full version of the latest PDF Complete Corporate Edition. You can purchase a copy from our online store or purchase PDF Complete Corporate Edition at a discount by clicking on the logo watermark in a PDF document. After downloading and installing PDF Complete Corporate Edition, no watermarks will be placed on documents you create. You will have to re-create any existing PDF documents (from the source documents) to produce new watermark-less versions.
A special case:
If you received a PDF document from a third party or downloaded it from a website, and it contains the PDF Complete logo watermark, then you know that it was originally created using an expired version of our demo or our trial software.
If you know the creator of the document, you could ask that they re-create the PDF using a full, purchased version of PDF Complete (or any other PDF creation product). If this option is not available to you, and the need is pressing, we will be glad to programmatically remove the PDF Complete watermark as a courtesy.
Send an email with the watermarked PDF file attached to removelogo@pdfcomplete.com. Our customer support team will gladly remove the watermark for you.

General
What is a PDF and why would I want to create PDF documents?
“PDF” stands for Portable Document Format. Invented by Adobe over 17 years ago, it has become the global standard for capturing and viewing rich information from almost any application on any computer system and sharing it with virtually anyone, anywhere. For example: if you create a document in Microsoft Word on your PC, and need to share that document with someone who doesn’t have Microsoft Word, you can save your document as a PDF (“print to PDF”), then share it.
Another way of describing it is: a PDF file is a portable document file. A PDF file captures the description of the content and appearance of a document in a static format. This format allows users to view, share, and print the document, even if they lack the original software and system used to create the document. Converting documents to PDF (Portable Document Format) allows other users to view your documents exactly as you specify. The page content and layout stays the same, allowing collaboration with confidence (for example, page 45 is the same for everyone).
PDF also allows you to control the content and usage of your shared documents. PDF documents provide a snapshot of the current version of your document and PDF Complete security features allow you to restrict the viewing, printing, and modification of your documents.

What is the difference between PDF Complete and other PDF creation products, such as Adobe's?
Adobe Acrobat products require the user to pay an annual fee as well as a substantial price for the Adobe brand name. Many of the features in Adobe Acrobat Standard and Adobe Acrobat Professional are not used by the customer.
PDF Complete software provides the most requested PDF features at a much more reasonable price point than offered by leading competitors. PDF Complete is a high-quality PDF document creation and viewing software. PDF Complete Corporate Edition is a perpetual license software with no annual maintenance fee. PDF Complete software is the fastest, most cost-effective solution on the market.
Can your products create PDF documents that are compatible with Adobe Acrobat Reader?
All documents created by PDF Complete may be displayed, printed, and modified by Adobe and other third party PDF applications. Adobe published the PDF standard beginning in 1992 as a freely licensed standard. The conditions for usage of the standard is to simply comply with the published PDF specifications. This approach has helped to establish PDF as the defacto standard for portable documents. PDF Complete creates PDF documents that are compliant with the standards set forth by Adobe.
Coming soon! PDF Complete Office Edition will be released with additional features including OCR (Optical Character Recognition), document assembly, page extraction, PDF document editing, annotations, digital signatures, PDF to Office document conversion, as well as other advanced features.
Please email sales@pdfcomplete.com to be added to the PDF Complete Office Edition notification list.

Using PDF Complete with a Windows application, Excel, AutoCad, and Publisher.
Using PDF Complete with a Windows Office application
From within Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, click the PDF icon in the application's toolbar. Name the PDF File and click SAVE.
Other applications: Select FILE and then PRINT. Select the PDF COMPLETE printer and click OK. Name the PDF file and click SAVE.
You may select additional options using the tabs on the file saving window.
Using PDF Complete with Excel
To accurately print a specific area of a worksheet, use the FILE --> PRINT method to create a PDF document. Select your print range. Use "Print Preview" to see the printed portions of the document. Select the PDF COMPLETE printer to create a PDF document.
Alternatively, use FILE --> PAGE SETUP to set the scaling factor for printing. Select a % size reduction or a fit to width and/or height. Select PRINT and PDF COMPLETE to create a PDF document.
When printing multiple worksheets at once from an Excel workbook, each worksheet will print as a separate document. This is a "by-design" behavior of Excel. With PDF Complete Office Edition and PDF Complete Corporate Edition, you may create a single document by APPENDING to the previously created PDF document. To append the 2nd, 3rd, etc. worksheet to the previous worksheets, select an existing PDF document in the file browser window. Uncheck the box "View PDF after creation". Select SAVE to overwrite the document, APPEND to add to the end of the existing document, or INSERT to place the new document at the beginning of the existing document.
If the formatting that has been applied to an Excel worksheet is not displaying correctly in the PDF document, first preview the document formatting in Print Preview (FILE, PRINT PREVIEW). Once the preview is formatted correctly, select the PRINT button at the top of the Print Preview window. Select the PDF COMPLETE PRINTER and click OK. If printing from Print Preview, PDF Complete should create a PDF document that is identical to what is displayed in the Print Preview.
Note on using PDF Complete with AutoCAD
The adjustment for AutoCAD's positioning and scaling will need to be made from within AutoCAD's print options. For some drawings, this will require some trial and error.
Note on using PDF Complete with Publisher
Using the FILE, PRINT method may more specifically control the page size, resolution, and scaling. To adjust these settings, select the PDF COMPLETE PRINTER and select PROPERTIES. With either method, a dialog box will appear prompting you to specify the file for the PDF document. Select the appropriate folder and filename. To specify additional options, use the tabs located on the right side of the file saving window. Click SAVE, INSERT, or APPEND to create the document.
With PDF Complete, you can use the second method to create a PDF for any document that can be printed to a paper printer.
